“Practical Falconry” by Gage Earl Freeman was first published in 1869 and was considered the first falconry treatise of a truly relevant and down to earth nature. Freeman had written on the subject of falconry for The Field magazine for a number of years under the pseudonym of “Peregrine”.   
 
Freeman’s passion was flying Peregrine Falcons at Grouse although he was more than conversant with most other branches of falconry practised in Britain at the time. Also within this work are the chapters Freeman wrote on “How I became a Falconer”. These are also of great interest historically. 
 
A classic falconry work and deserving of its place in the FHS collection.
 
This is the third volume in the Falconry Heritage Series and will be limited to 150 copies in total.
